5 Online Learning Platforms for Students

But the fact is that JEE Main is one exam that needs a specific preparation strategy on part of the student while they do not end up doing acts that reduce the chances of making it to the other side after. Or the student might end up with the course or institute that they do not wish for while compromising with the career they dream of.

There are lakhs of students across India who prepare for JEE Main exam with all their heart, but the statistics show that a few thousands make it to crack the exam. The reason is not that those who could not qualify do not give as many hours as those who crack it, nor is it like they were not serious for the JEE.  But the fact is that JEE Main is one exam that needs specific preparation strategy on part of the student while they do not end up doing acts that reduce the chances of making it to the other side after. Or the student might end up with the course or institute that they do not wish for while compromising with the career they dream of.

Devoting more time on learning new topics

Almost all JEE study tips, as well as board exam study tips, keep highlighting the importance of solving previous year question papers, sample tests and mock papers.

Yet, many JEE aspirants would still be focusing more time to learn new topics right now and trying to cover remaining board exam and JEE syllabus. At this time, revise what you already know and solve at least one board exam paper each day. If you find time, solve a few questions as well.

Getting many books

Less is more. Refer lesser books to study for JEE exam and practice within study groups. Sharing books can be an option to be economical.Once you’ve completed your IIT JEE syllabus, go ahead and practice and rewrite everything you’ve learned in preparation for JEE advanced.

Stick to a few good JEE reference books for the first few days of IIT JEE preparation, which are of higher quality, and contain many practice exercises. Usually, NCERT books are perfect for your best kind of preparation. However, you can buy a few extra books for practice but don’t go overboard to make a massive pile of books and end up reading none of them properly.

Forgetting to stick to the JEE Syllabus

The JEE Exam will never test your comprehension of various topics that are not a part of the syllabus. While preparing for the exam, it is very easy to go off track and study things that are not a part of the syllabus. This will prove to be a big waste of time and effort. So make sure you know the JEE Syllabus in and out and you do not focus on anything else other than this.

Ignoring the hard to understand chapters

JEE is a national level examination with neck-to-neck competition and marks in the merit list differing by small margins. One simply cannot afford to go easy in the JEE preparation. Ignoring a problem will only make it bigger. It is essential to rack your brains, make efforts to grasp and get a grip on the chapter, rather than running away from it.

Take full advantage of technology, watch online videos by experienced educators. Understand a biological process or a concept by its 3D representation. It will help you understand, visualize and connect processes/concepts. You can also take live classes so that your doubts are cleared at your convenient time with personal attention.

Less Problem-Solving Practice

JEE is an exam where you have to get your hands dirty and solve as many problems as you can. We lose several marks just because we take ‘trivial’ stuff for granted. Solve practice problems, expose yourself to all possible themes and profiles so that you won’t face any trouble recalling the method in a crunch situation. You must also adapt to the exam environment because JEE is about temperament as well.

Make it a point to practice in a time-bound manner whenever possible. If you survive several high-pressure situations, you will have developed nerves of steel! That’s an invaluable asset to have on the D-Day.

To sum it up, the above-mentioned mistakes are a complete no-no for all aspirants. We hope you won’t commit these at any cost and knock it out of the park in the exam.
